Dear Lynx Families,
Welcome to December, and it is beginning to feel like winter has finally arrived. Due to the cold weather, we have been opening our doors for students at 8:30 and keeping them inside for lunch. However, we are still encouraging all students to dress appropriately for the conditions. In the unlikely event that we need to evacuate the school, students will be required to exit the building and walk to one of our alternative sites and this is not something we would want to see students undertake without the appropriate clothing. This will continue to hold true throughout the season, and as the weather does warm up, we will once again, have students outside at lunch.
Thank you to all the families who have made donations to our holiday hampers program. I have been so impressed with the generosity of the Vanier community. We are still in need of some items and will continue to collect them until next Friday, December the 9th. If you have any questions or are curious what needs donating, please contact Ms. Fink at amfink@cbe.ab.ca
Please see the message below from the CBE around student’s mental health. They are offering free virtual parent/guardian workshops next week.
Stay warm,
Bonne fin de semaine,
Chad Edmonds – Principal GP Vanier

Please encourage your child(ren) to check the lost and found for any items belonging to them beforehand. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity after December 9th.

An Invitation to Learn More About Your Students’ Mental Health
Dear Parents / Guardians,
In CBE, we believe that you can inspire your kids to make healthy lifestyle choices and increase protective factors. However, in order to do so, the right tools and information are needed. That’s why we’re launching a new five-part web series.
On Dec. 6, the CBE’s Well-Being team will host a free online session with the Community Health Promotion Services Team from Alberta Health Services on the topic of student mental health.
You are invited to join us at the virtual session from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
