About Us

Welcome

At Grant MacEwan our mission is to provide meaningful and relevant learning experiences for all of our students. Our staff is dedicated to providing a sound academic foundation that meets student needs and promotes learning. We believe that all youth deserve the opportunity to be the best they can be. We strive to maintain a learning environment characterized by respect, cooperation and caring. I feel extremely fortunate to work with such hardworking, polite and well-behaved students, a superior staff, a dedicated school council, and parents who care for their children and support them in their learning.

Our School is Rich in Activity and Learning

We embrace opportunities for students to engage in meaningful opportunities that will support and enhance learning. We are linked to many agencies and community based programs that make our school a vibrant place dedicated to students. Examples of our ongoing involvement may include:

  • Calgary Reads – “Wee Reads”
  • Authentic learning activities, field trips and guest speakers supported by our Parent Society
  • Extracurricular programs
  • Student Leadership opportunities including, Me to We, Safety Patrol, and Student Council.
  • Clubs and groups of interest and school related programs
  • Fine Arts Performances

  • Up-to-date technology pods in our Learning Commons
  • Maintained Learning Commons creating the hub of our learning
