COVID-19 Notices

Update | COVID-19,  EI#: 2021-EI-5498

The AHS Alert/Outbreak team has provided notification of Guy Weadick moving to Alert on the Alberta school status map.

On January 18, AHS made changes to their school status classification. An Alert status represents 1- 4 positive cases in the school within a 28-day period. When AHS confirms two or more cases within a 14-day period. AHS initiates an investigation and adds the school to the AHS school status map. AHS also notifies the administrator and the community that they are now tracking and investigating the school cases. Any new cases in the next 28 days will be included in this investigation.  The Alert status ends when the school has no new confirmed cases for 28 days.

When a school moves to Alert, AHS provides an EI number (case #). This EI # does not provide speedier access to testing; however, it currently ensures testing availability and it serves to ‘link’ potential transmission cases together. When booking a test online, the registrant provides the school specific number. The school number is 2021-EI-5498.  Please make this number available to your community when you post the AHS alert notification.

Full information on this classification process is available at https://www.alberta.ca/schools/covid-19-school-status-map.htm
