We offer a Mandarin Bilingual Program for the south part of Calgary. Our Mandarin Program currently offers grade 5-7 with plans to expand to Grade 9 over the next 2 school years.

Students in grades 5 and 6 are instructed by native English speaking teachers in English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Health.  Students are instructed by native Mandarin speaking teachers in Mandarin Language Arts, Math, and Science. Students are instructed in Physical Education for about 60 minutes each day.  Art and Music are integrated into all subject areas.

Students in grade 7 are integrated with students in the regular program when taking English Language Arts, Social Studies, Health, Band and Science classes. They are instructed by native Mandarin speaking teachers in Mandarin Language Arts and Math.

Learning a language empowers you to think, act and speak in diverse cultural settings and to move from one cultural setting to another with confidence.

Our Chinese (Mandarin) Bilingual Program provides students with the opportunity to acquire the basic skills for speaking, reading, writing, listening and communicating in both English and Mandarin at a young age.

An integral component of the Mandarin Bilingual Program is learning language through authentic learning experiences.  Cultural celebrations such as Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn festival have been very powerful language learning tools and have been great ways to build a sense of community with all of the students, parents, and community members.
