Calgary Transit

The students at H.D. Cartwright, like many students in the CBE, use Calgary Transit (CT) to get to school. Only our students enrolled in the Specialized Program at HDC take a yellow school bus. Families are responsible for purchasing Calgary Transit monthly passes. Students are reminded to always have proof of fare payment to avoid a refusal of service or issuance of a summons. More information about fares and routes are available on the CBE website or the Calgary Transit website.

Students who come to school on public transit must follow all Calgary Transit rules. Good conduct while riding transit is essential to the safety and comfort of all passengers.

Students are requested to:

  • Not litter or cause damage
  • Behave in a manner which does not distract the operator or other passengers
  • Respond politely to all operator/transit personnel requests
  • Swearing and obscene language is not tolerated

Calgary Transit Rebate

Grade 6-12 students residing more than 2.4 km from their designated school attending a Regular Program and assigned to Calgary Transit are eligible for a rebate up to $549, meaning they will pay up to $201/year. Please ensure that you keep the passes to submit for the rebate.
