Please visit our COVID-19 page for the most up-to-date information. Our plan is subject to change throughout the school year as more information becomes available.

One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Under the School Act, a parent society is a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. The school principal is not part of this group. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

Parent Society

Our Parent Society is known as The Parent and Alumni Association.

The Parent and Alumni Association is essentially a fundraising body and is a registered Society. The fundraising activities of the Parent and Alumni Association are casinos, held once every 18-24 months. Voting membership includes parents/guardians of Henry Wise Wood students as well as Alumni. School Administration and staff participate on the Parent and Alumni Association in an advisory capacity and are not voting members.

Meeting Schedule

The Parent and Alumni Association has its’ monthly meetings immediately following the School Council meetings. All parents and guardians of Henry Wise Wood Students are welcome to attend any meeting.
