Personal Belongings

Lost & Found

Students are responsible for taking care of their own belongings, as well as respecting the property of others. We ask that personal items (clothing, boots and shoes, backpacks, lunch bags, binders, etc.) be clearly labeled with their first and last name.  Lost and found items are displayed outside of the gym and get purged a few times a year.

Indoor Shoes

For safety reasons, all children must wear shoes at all times while in the school. Please ensure that your child has a pair of indoor shoes labeled with his/her name that can remain at the school. Running shoes are preferred, so that children have proper footwear for Phys. Ed. We would appreciate it if the soles of runners are not black as they tend to mark the floors. Shoes with wheels in the soles are not allowed in school for safety reasons.

Bikes

Students can ride bikes to school, however they need to walk them while on school property and lock them in the designated bike rack. Hidden Valley School is not responsible for stolen items.

The school cannot be responsible for bicycles damaged or stolen while they are at school. In addition, safety regulations require that skateboards, roller blades and Heelys are not to be brought to school or used on school property.

Unsafe Equipment and Conditions

For safety reasons, students are not permitted to bring the following items to school: Heeley shoes, skateboards, hockey sticks, rollerblades, baseballs and/or bats as well as any other item which could be identified as hazardous.

Also, parents, students, staff, community members are encouraged to advise the office/administration of any item, material, or conditions on or around the school property that are considered dangerous or hazardous to the safety and security of people. These items will be secured by administration or other qualified individuals pending the nature of the item/material/conditions.

Personal Electronic Devices

Our school has an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school. Students who disregard this policy will have that device confiscated and returned at the end of the day to either the student or his/her parent.
