Inclement Weather
During inclement weather, students will be allowed into the school and will not be expected to go outside during lunch recess.
The CBE reminds parents they should be prepared for potentially bad weather conditions.
Parents / guardians always make the final decision as to whether or not it is safe to send their child to school. If they do decide to send their child to school in inclement weather, the school will be open to receive them. No student will ever be reprimanded for missing school due to weather.
Students, especially younger students, should be well prepared for the weather and have very clear instructions on how to get to school. We encourage you to write your plan down, communicate it with your child(ren) and put a copy into your child(ren)’s school bag. We follow the practice of keeping children in if the wind-chill reaches -20 degrees Celsius according to the Environment Canada website.
