Student Supervision

Playground supervision is provided three times each day.

  • 7:45 AM – 8:00 AM Creative Playground is closed during this time
  • 10:05 AM – 10:20 AM mid morning recess
  • 11:20 PM – 11:59 PM (Lunch time/recess) for students who are part of our lunchroom
  • There is no after school supervision.  Students are to return home when dismissed.

Students are not to come to school before supervision starts. At the end of the school day, students are dismissed directly into parent care following dismissal. There is no formal supervision after school.

School Supplies

Basic school supplies are provided and notes will come home occasionally for any extra supplies that your child may need throughout the year.

Students should bring a backpack for carrying books and agendas back and forth to home and have an outdoor set of shoes and a safe indoor set for use in the gym.

School Calendar

View our School Calendar for upcoming events and dates. See the CBE website for system calendars.

Lunch Supervision

This service is available to all Grade 1 – 6 students attending Huntington Hills School as a user pay service

Students in Grade 1-6 who wish to stay at school for lunch, are required to pay the noon supervision service fee. For any student only needing to use the noon supervision service occasionally, a drop-in fee of $5.00 per day per student will apply.

Registration and fees as well as other information can be found on our Lunch Supervision page.

Assigned Teachers

As teacher staffing is ongoing in June and into the summer, we don’t have a complete list of teachers and classrooms until school starts.  Students will meet on the playground compound, as noted in the email from your child's teacher, on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023 and their assigned teacher will call students in class by class.  If it is raining, we will meet everyone in the gym.

Kindergarten

We will be doing a staggered entry as described during our orientation evening. Your child will receive an email from the Kindergarten teacher informing you of the time your child will be coming to Kindergarten .

This staggered entry allows the teacher to begin the building of routines and expectations with a smaller group of students prior to the full class coming together. Please meet your teacher at the northwest student entrance.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for all registration details. Please note that the registration process is completed online, but schools can assist with any questions.

Most school messages are sent to parents through SchoolMessenger. It’s a mass communication tool that allows schools to easily and securely send email, phone and text messages to parents / guardians, independent students in a particular grade, class, school or area. Messages are sent to the parent contacts on file at your school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2023-24 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2023-24 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed. Should routes change or if qualified students are added to a route and the bus becomes overcrowded, conditional riders may be removed to accommodate these changes.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
