Principal's Weekly Message
How do we tell the story of resilience?
April 18th, 2021
Good afternoon to the Ian Bazalgette families.
I hope this finds you enjoying a cozy Sunday afternoon. We were almost there into Spring with that amazing day yesterday. Once again as we head into online learning for our grade 7-9 students we want to express our appreciation to the families for the adjustments this may mean for you to support your child in their learning. We spent some time on Friday again preparing for this shift and hope our students are set-up in a good way as we begin again tomorrow. As a reminder students' are expected to be online at the start and end of class. If you get a phone call indicating that your child is absent please send that teacher a note of inquiry. Teachers will be doing attendance and on occasion a student may not indicate they are online when a teacher calls upon them. For those students that require paper packages we will have them available starting Tuesday.
I have attached in this school messenger copies of the third term curriculum letters. In them you will find the focus of the learning the grade team and teachers have in place for the final months of learning this year. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.
We have continued this past week our conversations about our planning for next year. A parent survey in regards to budget is on the Ian Bazalgette home page and would encourage parents to have their voices heard through that process.
We are also reminding our grade 7 parents that you should have received information from Alberta Education about the Assurance Survey. We are hopeful that parents would find some time to have their voice heard through that process as well.
Just a reminder as we head into next year that we are back on a modified calendar. Once we have all our critical dates on it we will send a copy out to the community as we know many families are making plans and that information is part of their decision making.
Stay well Ian Bazalgette Families and have a great Sunday night, let's hope we don't have too much more snow and we can really welcome in Spring.
Terry and Lauren
