The music program is an important part of the Baz community and a significant focus in your child’s continued development. Each year brings exciting opportunities and new challenges for the musical ensembles at Ian Bazalgette. We look forward to your family’s involvement with our program. Additional information is provided to parents via email and website throughout the year. In order to receive this information, please ensure that the School’s main office has your current email addresses.
Program Cost & Fees
If a student does not have access to an instrument, the Calgary Board of Education will make one available for him or her. The rental cost for an instrument is $100.00 for the 10-month school year for students in grade 6 through 9. This is a non-refundable fee.
This fee covers general maintenance, repair and supply costs, however costs associated with damage that go above and beyond general wear and tear will be the responsibility of the student and his or her family. Please note: no child should ever be excluded from the program for financial reasons. If you have a concern about the costs, please contact the Ms. Brenda Wong at the school.
A completed Musical Instrument Registration and Rental Agreement is required to be handed into the main office in order to use a CBE instrument. Please complete it and return it with payment to Ms. Brenda Wong. Please leave the instrument name and serial number section blank. We will fill that out once your child has been assigned an instrument. Students will not receive an instrument until their form has been returned to the school.
