“How do I use my resiliency to create sustainability for myself, my community, and the world?"
                                                                                                                        September 19th, 2021
Good morning Ian Bazalgette community, I hope this finds you enjoying a good weekend.  We continue to express our appreciation to our parents as we continue to move learning forward for our students.  This past Friday teachers connected to discuss areas of focus for the learning that we believe will support our students in great ways.  This will partly be captured and shared with you later this week during the Meet the Teacher opportunity on Thursday.
The Meet the Teacher evening will be one that is in an online format.  We will be sending out links to videos that teachers are finishing up this week that will discuss their area of learning and share some more insights as to their particular area.  Along with the presentations we will be sending the Curriculum Letters out which will give you some ideas about where the learning is going between now and December.  We hope all this information will help you have a clearer picture of the learning at school.  We have taken this approach for the Meet the Teacher as we know that in October we will be also meeting to discuss student progress.  Please know that at any time if you have questions about your child's experience at school that reaching out to your child's homeroom teacher would be welcomed.
Tomorrow our school is a polling station and we are excited to be hosting this important part of democracy.  As a result we will have more congestion along the street out front as we have the community coming in to vote.  Please have some additional patience during the drop off and pick up times at the school as we look to support democracy. We have some classes that will be making their way down to the gym to observe the voting process and are excited they will get the chance to see this live and in action.
We continue to have a nice start-up of athletics once again with both the girls and boys soccer teams playing this past week.  We also had our first cross country event last week with several students finishing in the top 20 J.  Good luck to our soccer and cross-country athletes this week.  We also continue to have volleyball try-outs take place and are excited with the level of participation in those as well.
Have a great Sunday out there Ian Bazalgette families.
Stay well.
Terry and Jamie-Dee

RT @ohscbe: It is definitely looking like fall out there! Our Grade 6s are learning about the autumnal equinox occurring on Sept 22, which marks the change of the season! #SkyScience #WeAreCBE

Thank you to all of the CBE students involved in the safety patrol program. We must all work together to ensure student and pedestrian/wheeler safety on the roads and pathways near our schools. #WeAreCBE
