“How do I use my resiliency to create sustainability for myself, my community, and the world?"

                                                                                                                                                                                    January 16th, 2022

Good morning and happy Sunday to our In Bazalgette families.  We hope you are able to get out and enjoy some of this warm winter weather out there.

On Friday we sent home the rapid test kits for your child.  If your child was not there on Friday they can come to the office to get theirs.  We hope the kits that were handed out on Friday made their way home.  It is the governments hope along with our that these kits will be one more way that we can make informed decisions on helping to keep everyone safe while at school.  We want to continue to remind parents t continue to also use the checklist when making decisions about sending your child to school for the day.  Having a healthy learning environment is good for everyone and we appreciate the care that our parents are showing.  We are also making a plea that if you do decide to keep your child home please call the school to inform us.  This will help us with our deployment and decisions about how best to support students that are at school.  It will also help us with our thinking about any longer-term support that we need to have in place for students that are not at school.

This past week and this week coming up teachers are continuing to work on the assessment for the report cards that will be live the week of February 1st.  If you are receiving phone calls please know that we are trying to get some of the assignments in so we can assess what your child knows.  In many cases students receiving 1's is due to them not handing in or completing their work.  This is an important aspect of being accurate in our assessing where students are at in their learning. If you have not done so please sign-up for the MYCBE account to view report cards.  We will not be sending home paper copies this year unless we get a special request. If you need assistance with this please contact the office and the team there can help you with accessing that account.

We have been advised that we can continue with our basketball program. The season has been delayed a few weeks and a decision about offering a full interschool schedule will be decided at that time.  It has been great to see the students out there playing basketball and getting their exercise in.

Tomorrow the registration process starts for the Science Program for the 22-23 school year.  If your child is in the regular program and would like to join the Science Program please see our website for the application information.

Jamie-Dee and I hope that you all have a great day out there and enjoy that winter sunshine J.  We are looking forward to seeing our students back at school on Monday.

Stay well.

Terry / Jamie-Dee
