Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

Planning is underway for what the 2020-21 school year will look like for our students, staff and families. The CBE has created an internal task force with representatives from every service unit to lead the planning for different scenarios. All of our decisions will be guided by the advice of the province’s chief medical officer of health and Alberta Education guidelines. The safety and well being of our students and staff will come first in any decisions we make. More information will be provided to families before the first day of classes on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for all registration details and registration forms. Please contact Student Services for booking student appointments.

School is Open for Registration by Appointments/ Fast Track/ Lifetouch on Aug. 27 & 28, 2020.

Fast Track Registration

Students are expected to pre-register prior to the first day of school. If you plan to pay online, please pay prior to the Fast Track Day and bring a receipt with you in order to go straight to the express lane. If you would like to pay by cash, cheque, visa or debit on the Fast Track Registration Day, please print and bring a fee sheet. It may take up to an hour to complete the registration process and depends on the number of people in line by the time you arrive. We highly recommend all parents pay online if possible.

Schedule Changes

After completing the “Fast Track Registration” process, students receive a draft timetable that should be checked for accuracy. If any changes are required, the students must meet with their guidance counsellor. Changes will only be considered for lack of prerequisites in core academic streams or changes required due to success in summer school. There will be no changes to option courses. It is suggested that students complete timetable changes on the “Fast Track Registration” day as they may wait up to one week after school begins. If you are a current user of MyCBE / PowerSchool, you may also view your schedule online.

Transportation

Please note the CBE is no longer offering rebates on Calgary Transit passes for the 2017- 2018 school year. In order to ride on a Calgary Transit express bus to school and back home, students are required to purchase a regular youth monthly bus pass or a regular bus ticket. See the Calgary Transit for a few options where to purchase your transit pass or tickets. Parents are still able to claim bus passes on their income tax.
