Assessment is an integral and ongoing part of the instructional cycle. Teachers collect information regarding student progress using a variety of broad-based assessment strategies including of portfolios, journals, daily work samples and tests. Teachers and administration are available to meet with parents at any time during the school year as well as at scheduled Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences.
In June, students receive a final report card with the entire year’s information included. Meetings may be set up with teachers and are not required. If students are on Individualized Program Plans (IPP) to support their learning, teachers will arrange meetings with the parents prior to conferences and reporting. Parental involvement in the IPP process is essential to the success of these program plans.
