Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-777-8180 ext. 1.

Absences

We prefer if our parents notify the office of their child's absence. Often the information does not get to the office in a timely manner if left on the teacher's voicemail or in your child's agenda.
In your message please the leave the following details:
  • Student first and last name
  • Teacher
  • Classroom
  • Duration of absence
  • The reason why

Thank you to all families for their work to ensure that children arrive at school each day on time! This sets children up for a calm, successful day as they are not missing valuable learning time or feeling embarrassed that they are walking into the classroom in the middle of a lesson. Monitoring and supporting attendance is a significant priority for our School Learning Team, as we recognize the tremendous positive impact that regular on-time attendance has for student learning.

Extended Absence

We ask that you send a note in advance to the office indicating the first and last day of your child's extended absence.

Temporary / Change of Guardian

If the child's guardian has changed, or the primary guardian will be absent for a period, we need to know. We ask that you contact the office with names and numbers in writing. Please note that we cannot release a child to anyone without your authority.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.
