What Does My Child Need to Bring to School?

Please be sure to send your child to school with:

  • A backpack large enough to hold a library book, notices and a snack bag.
  • A small, healthy snack such as a piece of fruit with cheese and crackers. As well, you may want to send in a water bottle, (no juice). We ask that you do not send in foods with peanuts or peanut products as we are an allergy aware school.
  • Labeled, Indoor running shoes with Velcro fasteners (the shoes will be left at school). The Ken Taylor Fundraising Association has an ongoing fundraiser with Mabels Labels. If you would like to purchase these label please see the following link: Mabels Labels
  • An extra set of clothing kept in your child’s back pack (accidents happen)
  • Comfortable, play clothing that your child can fasten and unfasten. As well, please send in clothing that is appropriate for the outdoors as our students will often go outside.
  • **All clothing, backpacks, shoes and snack containers should be labelled with your child’s name.**

Supplies and Fees

All instructional and material supplies will be supplied by the school as the provincial government, in keeping with Bill 1, has provided funds for these expenses. Transportation and Lunchroom fees are assessed by the CBE and you can visit the CBE webpage or call us at 403-817-3504 for more information. You can also log into your MyCBE account in order to see which fees apply to your child for any field trips, swimming or inline skating.

Parking

We value our neighbours - Please do not block our neighbours’ driveways for any length of time. Use our Hug & Go zones or the parking in front of the school – follow the traffic flow (see yellow arrows on map above).

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2023-24 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2023-24 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed. Should routes change or if qualified students are added to a route and the bus becomes overcrowded, conditional riders may be removed to accommodate these changes.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
