Please call the school absence line to report an absence or late before 9:00 AM. If we do not receive a call from you, the office staff will have to phone a parent/guardian. Please use the attendance line, which accepts messages 24 hours a day.

When phoning in, please leave the name of your child, teacher’s name, duration of and reason for absence.

Lates

We believe it is important to arrive at school on time and be prepared for class. Students who arrive late are asked to report to the office for a Late Slip before heading to class. This will eliminate unnecessary phone calls to parents. The Late Slip should be given to the classroom teacher.

Any adult picking up a child for an appointment, illness or injury must sign the child out in the front office. Students will not be permitted to leave the school without parent/guardian permission. If your child is to be picked up by someone other than a person listed on their contact list, please send a written note or phone the office to advise us of your wishes.

Picking Up Your Child

Sometimes parents wish to take children out of the lunchroom or from school for a special occasion or appointment. It is important that we are informed so that we know where your child is. A sign-out binder is kept on a table outside the main office. Parents are asked to inform the office and sign out their child. Please also help us to be aware of any custody agreements that may dictate who your child is permitted to leave the school with.

If you are picking your child up early for appointments or arrive late for pickup, please come to the main office. In the interest of safety, children are not to stand alone outside. Children will be directed to go to the office if you are late or have not picked up your child immediately after school.
