We follow the CBE traditional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.​

Back to School Information

First Day of Classes 

Our first day of school is Thursday September 1, 2022. School starts at 8:00 am and soft-entry will begin from 7:50 am - 8:00 am. Soft-Entry is the time where you child should be entering the school and getting ready for the day. Classes begin promptly at the bell.

We will be having staggered entry for Kindergarten during our first days of school.

  • Thursday September 1st – 8:30 am – 10:00 am – AM Kindergarten students with surnames A-M 
  • Thursday September 1st – 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm  – PM Kindergarten students with surnames A-M 
  • Friday September 2nd – 8:15 am - 9:45 am – AM Kindergarten students with surnames N-Z 
  • Friday September 2nd – 10:15 am - 11:45 am – PM Kindergarten students with surnames N-Z 

The school office is open to parents starting Wednesday August 24, from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM. Regular office hours will resume on Thursday September 1st.

Kindergarten

  • AM Class: 8:00 AM - 10:50 AM (Monday to Thursday) - soft-entry is from 7:50 am - 8:00 am
  • PM Class: 11:40 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday to Thursday) - soft-entry is from 11:30 am - 11:40 am
  • Fridays: 8:00 AM - 12:10 PM (no afternoon classes on Friday) - soft-entry is from 7:50 am - 8:00 am
    • Alternate Fridays for Kindergarten students  
    • AM Kindergarten ONLY— Sep 9; Oct 14; Nov 4; Dec 2, 16; Jan 20; Feb 10; Mar 3, 24; Apr 21; May 12, 26; Jun 16 
    • PM Kindergarten attend AM— Sep 16; Oct 21; Nov 18; Dec 9; Jan 13, 27; Feb 24; Mar 17; Apr 13, 28; May 19; Jun 2, 23 

Grades 1-5

Monday to Thursday 

  • 8:00 AM  – 2:30 PM (soft-entry is from 7:50 am - 8:00 am)
  • Lunch: 
  • Division II - 11:45 AM - 12:25 PM
  • Division I - 12:15 PM - 12:55 PM

Fridays 

  • 8:00 AM – 12:10 PM (no afternoon classes on Friday) - soft-entry is from 7:50 am - 8:00 am

School Supply Lists  

We will be providing students with school supplies like pencils, erasers, paper, journals, etc. The only items we do not purchase are indoor shoes and backpacks. Please make sure you purchase these items for your child(ren).

Assigned Teachers 

You should receive an email message from your child’s teacher prior to the first day of school. If we were not able to contact you, please stop by the office to find this information on the first day of school.

Kindergarten 

The first 2 days of school are generally staggered entry days for Kindergarten students and regular classes for all students start on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. The first early dismissal Friday is on Friday September 9th and only AM Kindergarten will attend the AM class; there is no class for PM Kindergarten on this day. There is no bussing for Kindergarten students during staggered entry days.

​​​​Do You Have a MyCBE Account? Have You Added Your Child(ren) To the Account?

Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent Students who have not already done so, must create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) to the account to:

  • access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessments, daily attendance record, report card)
  • view your child’s learning using Brightspace by D2L
  • pay fees and request waivers
  • register for transportation and lunch ​supervision
  • book parent-teacher conferences
  • submit online school forms (required for 2022-23 school year)

You will need your email address on file at the school as well as your child’s CBE ID, which can be found on the:

  • SchoolEngage student profile, for families that registered their child using SchoolEngage.

  • CBE Report Card, beside the child's name
  • CBE ID card

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​​​​Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2022-23 school year are created o​ver the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
