Preparing for High School

Grade 9 High School Transition Information

As a new school, we have just realized that we have not been included on a lot of standard information that has been communicated by Calgary Board of Education High Schools. We are taking steps to rectify this communication issue.

The Calgary Board of Education offers different programming options for High School, and our Student Service / Admin and Teaching Teams are here to help you out. Please see the Career and Technology Studies and Knowledge & Employability Occupational Pathways by High School Facilities document for a complete listing of programs and the High Schools who offer them. Transfer information can be found HERE.

Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School

For most of our students, the school-of-choice will be our designated High School, which is Joane Cardinal-Schubert in Seton. We have just received word that school tours will be offered to grade 9 students on Thursday, January 26th with an Open House for students and families from 6:30 – 8:00 PM on that same date. Please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information. For more information, click HERE .

International Baccalaureate Program at Henry Wise Wood High School

**UPDATED - Open House postponed until Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00pm (was originally scheduled for November 30, 2022)** Please see brochure for more information.

Interested Lakeshore School students and families can check out program information HERE and connect with Tracey Orr, Lakeshore School Student Services, if you have interest in the program.

Central Memorial High School – The Centre for Performing & Visual Arts

The open house is November 24, 2022 from 7:00-9:00pm. In this program, students have opportunities to complete 30+ high school fine arts credits through year-round specialized classes alongside like-minded students and faculty with artistic backgrounds. Not only can they focus on their arts learning every single day of high school, but they can also complete core classes, AP classes, languages and CTS courses here at Central Memorial. Please see the Central Memorial High School Open House brochure & Parent Letter for details.
