The Good Food Box | Order Nov. 13, 2018

Lester B Pearson High School is continuing being a North East Calgary distribution point (Hub) for the Calgary Good Food Box.

The Good Food Box is a program under the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary whereby you can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at amazing costs. The more people that join in the program the greater our buying power becomes. The Good Food Box offers ALL Calgarians access to nutritious food to ensure no one goes hungry. The Fruit and Vegetable boxes are put together and delivered to your closest location (Hub) once a month.

As the Pearson Hub continues to grow, we invite our staff, our community, and our students and families to participate and join us using program. The order date for this month is November 13 with pick up of your Good Food Box Friday after school November 23, from Lester B Pearson High school.

Payment needs to be received upon ordering. If you are interested and would like to order a box or would like more information please email Hsdeschner@cbe.ab.ca

There are 3 different sizes of boxes, when ordering please say which box you would like:

  • Small Box: $25
  • Medium Box: $30
  • Large Box: $35

This is an example of a "Small Box" from last year, Included in the box was: Watermelon, honeydew, mushrooms, tomatoes, pears, apples, bananas, oranges, plums, mango, onions, carrots, celery, green pepper, red pepper, grapefruits, lemons, lettuce, and a cauliflower. All of these fresh fruit and vegetables for only $25.00.

Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) donation

  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
