Mechanics 10
In this exploratory course, students develop skills related to the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles. Students learn the proper use of mechanics tools and materials to explore the many components of a vehicle. These components include: engine fundamentals, mechanical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics, electrical fundamentals and ride control systems.
Mechanics 20
This program builds on the fundamentals learned in Mechanics 10. Students work on project vehicles to practice and learn: braking systems drive line, suspension systems and hydraulic accessories. Students may bring in their own project vehicles to work on, although this is not a requirement.
Mechanics 30
This is an advanced course that builds on previous skills and develops new techniques. Students work to diagnose engine problems and make decisions on how to solve issues. Students perform engine tune-ups and replacements as well as work on safety and computer systems.
