Diploma Course Information

Final Grade

Your final grade is made up of TWO components.

  1. 70% - school-based mark (cumulatively calculated)
  2. 30% - Alberta Diploma Exam

Diploma Exam Information

The best place to find updated information on the Alberta Diploma Exams is on the government website. There are specific booklets for each of the exams and exemplars from past exams. These booklets will describe the type of writing required for the exam and provide information for the reading comprehension. Social Studies Diploma Exams are written in TWO parts on two different dates.

Diploma Course Sequence Changes

Early in the semester, teachers will have communication with families in relation to their course sequence recommendation. Alberta Education gives a date each semester by which all course sequence changes (i.e. ELA 30-1 to 30-2, Social Studies 30-1 to 30-2) must be completed. This published date will go home to families via a letter through ELA and Social Studies classes. Any course sequence changes after the published date will be confirmed with the Learning Leader, and Assistant Principal.
