Report Absent Children

Parents are asked to report student absences and lates by email or telephone, before school starts.

When your child is going to be away from school, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to inform the school.

We check our voice and email every school day at 8:15 AM and 12:45 PM.  We prefer email as it is more efficient and timely in doing this important job.

Attendance Messages

We use the SchoolMessenger system to contact parents/guardians when a student is absent or late and the school has not been notified. The SchoolMessenger System is an automated system that acts on the information recorded in our student files, and will call contacts to ensure student safety and that parents / guardians are aware that a student is absent from school.

  • Please respond to our messages so we know your child is safe. You may also provide a reason for an absence.

As well, from time to time, SchoolMessenger System will deliver school wide messages to the school community.  Please keep all telephone numbers current on student records to insure that you receive all pertinent information in a timely manner.

For the most current messages from the school, families are asked to subscribe to SchoolMessenger system online

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.
