Learning Commons at the CBE

Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.

Virtual Book Fair

Our Scholastic Virtual Book Fair will take place from  Mar 7 - 20th.

MSB will once again be holding our Scholastic Book Fair online from March 7th – 20th.

This year, to avoid shipping costs for our families, all online packages will be sent directly to the school and then distributed to students to take home.

The book fair is a great opportunity to grow your child’s home library and support the school! 20% of sales results in rewards for us to purchase books to support teaching and learning!

Please watch for further information and reminders on your child’s Google Classroom as we get closer to the dates. If you are interested in taking a “Sneak Peak” at the books available and more, please use the following link:

Check out the elibrary

The Learning Commons this year looks a little different. CBE elibrary is an online catalogue of books that are available to CBE students and staff. elibrary will play an important role this year for students, teachers and parents.

Students in school have been exploring this virtual library to:

  • Browse our library collection
  • Search for resources using elibrary in different formats (ie audiobooks, digital resources, ebooks)
  • See their library account and view borrowed and overdue books (login required)
  • Search the Calgary Public Library for items
  • Find some great online sites to help with homework

It is the responsibility of all students to ensure that the books they have checked out prior to emergency learning are returned to the Learning Commons.
