Security

Signing In and Out

All students must report to the office when arriving late or leaving early. To ensure student security, all parents are requested to sign their children out at the office if they are leaving during regular school hours. We will call the classroom for your child to come and meet you outside the office. If you are returning your child to school after an appointment, please sign them back in at the front office.

For the safety and security of all students we ask that parents picking up and dropping off their children do so at the main doors.

Volunteers / Visitors

All volunteers and visitors must sign in at the office before going into the school.  This process helps us know where you are in case of an emergency.  All volunteers must comply with the CBE's Volunteer Registration process. A security clearance must be completed prior to volunteering in the school.

Locked Doors

In order to ensure school security, all exterior doors are locked. Visitors will need to use the intercom buzzer during regular school hours in order to access the building and then check into the office. Children arriving late or leaving early should be using the main entrance and office doors.

Lockdowns

All CBE schools are required to practice lockdowns in the same way that we practice fire drills. The procedures for lockdowns are developed with the Calgary Police Service and are part of each school’s Emergency Response Plan. If you have questions about lockdown drills or lockdown procedures, please contact your principal.

Evacuation Procedures

In the event that the school needs to be evacuated for any reason, all staff have been trained according to CBE standards. All schools have a primary and a secondary evacuation site. In the event of an evacuation, you will receive an email, phone or SMS notification from the school.
