There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Casino funds from our last casino fundraisers have supported, among other things, the following enrichment resources/educational experiences:

  • Books
  • Technology
  • and much, much more

MRS Cheque Writing Fundraiser 21_22

As part of Maple Ridge School’s fundraising efforts in the 2021/22 year, we are launching a Cheque Writing Campaign.  In the survey sent out to our community earlier this year, 50% of respondents indicated they would like to support our school through a cash donation. This fundraiser will run throughout the month of March.

The CBE has mandated that Education Matters, Calgary’s public education trust, will process this type of fundraiser. They charge a 3.5% administration fee for donation processing in order to offset their operational costs. The rest of the funds raised go directly to Maple Ridge for school and teacher needs, such as technology, library books, gym equipment and other curriculum enhancements.

We understand these may be very challenging times for many Maple Ridge families given the impact of the last 2 years. We are grateful for any donation that you are able to give and understand if you are unable to do so this year. With your help, our goal this year is to raise at least $50 per student, but a donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated.  Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20.00 and over.

Please note that there will be other opportunities in the coming months to support the school. We will be running a meat fundraiser later in the spring and a 50/50 in June.

Mention Maple Ridge School at COBS Bread Willow Park Village, 130th Ave or Mahogany and they will donate 5% of your purchase to the school.

Our Dough Raiser program helps schools and groups raise money.

How it Works

  1. Mention Maple Ridge School next time you're picking up fresh bread and treats from COBS Bread Willow Park Village.
  2. We will donate 5% of the total sale back to your school.
  3. At the end of the year, we will present you with the donation total.

Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) donation

  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
