School Update
To the students and families of MRS,
Our first schoolwide Open House in over two years was a resounding success. Many families were able to attend and join in our MRS Scavenger Hunt leaving us full of excitement and gratitude.
From viewing the fish and 3D Printer in the iLab, to exploring other favorite parts of the school, it was noticeable that our students were filled with excitement.
We also want to share a big thank you to our School Council for the tasty treat. If you have a question for school council members, or would like to join the mailing list, please send an email to mapleridgecouncil@gmail.com.
Have a wonderful weekend.
David Laidlaw and Sandy McNeil

Fire Drill
The safety of all students and staff at Maple Ridge School is of great importance. To that end, we continue to practice appropriate safety measures for the various situations that may occur and affect our staff and students.
As a school, we are required to have a minimum of six fire drills each school year and we completed our fifth one on Thursday. Our students and staff treat each drill as though it was the real thing, and we are very proud of their performance during those drills. Teachers keep class lists with them during all drills and attendance is taken.
Grade 4 Students
All current grade 4 students are designated to attend the Science Alternative Program at RT Alderman and are automatically enrolled for the start of the 2022-2023 school year. We ask any of our families whose students are attending a different school, and have not yet let us know, to please email us at mapleridge@cbe.ab.ca. This will ensure that we designate the change properly in our system to allow for a smooth transition.
Transportation Registration
Bus registrations begin on Wednesday, May 11. Families can begin registering using their MyCBE account.
If families are considering transportation services for the next school year, they must register by the deadline to ensure yellow school bus service for the first day of classes. There is no financial obligation for registration; families have until the fall to cancel without a fee.
The registration deadline for students to be included in route planning for the first day of school is Wednesday, June 8.
