Absent / Late Guidelines

If your child is going to be absent or late for any reason, please call the office at the number above to leave a message. If your child is absent and we have not heard from you, we will be contacting you. If you are picking up your child during school hours, please come to the office to sign them out. If students are late, they require a late slip from the office to enter class.

Please do not email attendance as we may not check that email account before attendance is completed. If your child will not be taking the bus, we must receive notification (preferably by a note to the teacher in their agenda) or a call to the school office. Bused students must be signed out by the parent if they are picking up their child.

Early Pick-ups

If a child has an appointment, please arrange with them ahead of time (by writing in the child’s agenda or emailing their teacher) to meet you at the office. If they are not there, ask one of our office staff to call your child down to meet you. Be sure to sign them out so we know that they have left the building. Please ensure that you allow yourself enough time for the child to get ready to leave with you. The office staff will gladly call your child to the office once you arrive at the school.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.

Friday, Sept 24 is a system-wide non-instructional day so there are no classes for CBE students. Have a safe long weekend and please continue to follow all public health measures #WeAreCBE

RT @UsihChristopher: We all recognize the benefits of in-person learning. We are doing everything we can to minimize transmission of COVID-19 in our schools. We NEED your help! To all employees and students (who are eligible): Please get vaccinated as quickly as possible. Thanks for sharing message!

Thank you @JackJamesHS for sharing information about the history of Treaty 7 on the anniversary of its signing #WeAreCBE #WeAreAllTreatyPeople

RT @Indigenous_cbe: Today is fall equinox - a time when daylight & nighttime share the sky equally. Today is also Treaty 7 Day - the 144th anniversary of the signing of Treaty 7. The 🌞 & 🌙s equality today teaches us how to honour the walking together in equal partnership. #welcomeoko

A number of CBE schools have participated in #StudentVoteCanada last week and today to learn about democracy in action #WeAreCBE
