JUNE FUN LUNCH AND FUNDRAISERS
Fun Lunch- Friday, June 10
The last fun lunch of this school year, which is on June 10, 2022 with Subway, is now live on the healthy hunger website! https://healthyhunger.ca/ The deadline for the same will be June 5, 2022 midnight!
Please note, Fun Lunch on Friday, June 10 is being offered to Grade 1-6 classes and ONLY both Regular kindergarten classes (Ms. Dolan and Ms. Freestone) as these are the only kindergarten classes that will be in attendance over the nutrition break on that day.
We will be sending reminders closer to that day.
Thank you for supporting this fund raiser throughout the school year. It shows the tremendous appreciation we have for our awesome teachers and staff:)
Have a great week ahead.

Loonies for Literacy:
Thank you to Marion Carson School Community for donating to Loonies for Literacy. We have raised over $260! We are raising funds to invest into school literacy programs. Better than that – for every dollar raised by a school, a dollar will also go to a school in need through the generosity of community sponsors and contributions. The funds raised by Loonies for Literacy will be used towards literacy programs, like:
o Books for school libraries
o E-books or e-learning resources
o Library diversification
o Decodable texts, and so much more!
If you’d like to support Loonies for Literacy, donations can be made online at educationmatters.ca, by texting Literacy Marion to 30333 (online donations will be accepted until June 30) or by sending a cash donation with your child to school (May 31 is the last day to send cash donations to school).
Thank you for supporting public education in Calgary!
Jump Rope for Heart- Jump Day tomorrow- May 31
Tomorrow students will be participating in our Jump Day event during their PE class! We have reached over half way in our fundraising goal of $1000. Way to go Marion Carson School community!
You can help us reach our $1000 fundraising goal in 1 of 3 ways:
- Register your child to fundraise online here: F22_Jump_AB_Provincial: Marion Carson School - Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and have them reach out to friends and family for donations. (Deadline has been extended to June 10)
- Make a one-time donation to our school page here: Jump Rope for Heart - Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. (Deadline has been extended to June 10)
- Make a cash donation by sending your child to school with any donation amount you are comfortable with. (Deadline is May 31)
The funds we raise will support research, education and other Heart & Stroke initiatives that empower kids and families across Canada to protect their heart and brain health. Plus, the more we raise, the more points we will earn to redeem for sports equipment, learning materials like robotics kits, and more!
Thank you so much for your support!

Jump Rope for Heart
It’s time to jump for joy — and help kids across Canada! Supporting kids’ health for 40 years, Jump encourages kids to be active. It builds healthy habits, boosts school spirit, and teaches social responsibility as kids fundraise for life-saving heart and stroke research.
From now until our event day on May 31, students will learn fun ways to get active for heart health while raising awareness and support for Heart & Stroke!
You can help us reach our $1000 fundraising goal in 1 of 3 ways:

Cheque Writing Campaign
Cheque Writing Campaign – It is that time again when we are requesting donations to our school in lieu of multiple fund raising activities. In the past parents asked that we try to ask for donations so that all funds go to our school instead of to another organization making profits from goods they are selling. On the linked document you will see the list of items purchased this past year and the plans for the upcoming year. This is strictly voluntary and we request that if you make a donation that it be within the means of your family's budget. In order to reduce costs, we are sending the form explaining the program through this email. Please contact Mrs. Cinnamon (dmcinnamon@cbe.ab.ca) by email if you would like a paper copy sent home. Please click the link to see the form.
If you have any questions you can reach your Marion Carson Parent Association at mcschoolcouncil@gmail.com
