Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

The Alberta Government announced on July 21 that schools will be in Scenario 1 as of Sept. 1, 2020.

The CBE's 2020-21 re-entry plan is subject to change as more information becomes available from the province. We will continue to update schools with more details during the next school year.

You can find the COVID Self-Assessment Tool (daily checklist) in the Government Resources section on the CBE website.

We are limiting the number of adults in the building so are asking you to:

  • Teach and model for your child, social distancing outside on the compound,
  • Let your child know that parents and caregivers cannot come into the school,
  • Plan to meet your child at a set meeting location away from the door at the end of the day,
  • Supervise your own children on the compound if needed as we are not providing regular supervision on those 2 staggered entry days, however, we are asking parents to not stay once they have dropped off their child to their teacher so that we can limit the amount of people that students and staff are exposed to, as well as provide everyone with more space to physically distance.
  • Ring the buzzer at the front door if you need to drop off medication or have an emergency. A member of support staff or office staff will help with your requests.

Do not park in our parking lot or in the bus zone. The ‘Kiss and Go’ zone is available for quick drop off only, no parking allowed.

Soft Entry Starting on September 3rd and onward

Soft entry is when students enter the building starting at 8:55 a.m. and go right to their classroom. This allows
us to limit and regulate the number of children coming in at a time.

School Supply Lists

School supplies are distributed by teachers on the week of Sept. 1, 2020. Other supplies needed from home will be:

  • Back pack that will hold a lunch and agenda or for kindergarten a snack and a folder
  • Good runners / sneakers for indoor shoes that will not mark the floor

School Calendar

We are a school that follows the traditional calendar. View Our School's Calendar for upcoming events and dates.

For CBE calendars, please visit www.cbe.ab.ca/registration/calendars.

Noon Supervision

For more information visit our Noon Supervision page.

Class Lists

Class lists were developed at the end of June, however, due to HUB Learning, we may need to adjust these lists. Please be aware that class lists may be adjusted once we have confirmed numbers of students attending.

Before and After School

Before and after school, school staff will be assigned to supervise areas outside school entrances. This supervision will help support physical distancing and is part of our district’s COVID-19 Re-entry Strategy. With this in mind, schools will not be assigning staff to supervise playground equipment before or after school. To support student safety and to decrease the mixing of cohort groups, this equipment will be off limits to students during these times.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for registration details and forms.

Our school office opens on Aug. 27 for registration.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2020-21 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

COVID-19 Changes

  • Riding the Bus Flowchart and Checklist
  • Only registered students have bus route and stop information provided through MyCBE / PowerSchool; this is to control the number of students accessing a bus in order to support maintaining healthy distances
  • Only registered students should use transportation services
  • Students are assigned to one stop based on their primary home address for general transportation; alternate stops will not be available
  • Students will be assigned a seat by the driver; students must adhere to the seating plan
  • Students must complete the AHS health assessment every morning before leaving for the bus stop. Students or family members with COVID-19 symptoms must stay home.
  • Masks are mandatory for students K-12, including on school buses
  • All service providers will follow Alberta Education and Alberta Health COVID-19 guidelines
Please visit our Covid-19 Frequently Asked Questions page, Transportation Section for more information.

More information about 2020-21 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
