Dear parents and guardians,
Through out the year we are going to be reminding parents to ask their children to showcase their
learning by logging into Iris. If your child is in Grade 2-6 they should have already logged into Iris
and set personal learning goals. If you do not know how to do this please ask your child’s home
room teacher when it comes parent teacher interviews. I think you are going to be impressed.
Our School Development Plan supports this work. Our focus this year is on Numeracy and
Writing. Each month we are going to share the work we have done to advance students
learning around Numeracy as well as in writing, specifically mechanics, Wellness as well this
year is one of our goals in which each class is working on a specific goal based on the classes
needs. As a learning community we will continue to discuss and collaborate on building a collective
vision for the school and finding ways to accomplish our preferred outcomes in the future.
We have completed updating our student demographic information in the computer. It is now
essential that you promptly inform the school if your address, phone numbers, or emergency contacts
change. This will enable us to reach you in the case of an emergency.
I would like to remind you that students should not arrive at school prior to 8:45 a.m., as there is no
supervision available. At the end of the day, students are expected to go directly home to check in
with their parents or caregivers before meeting friends or playing on the playground. Students
should be picked up at 3:30 Monday–Thursday and 1:20 on Fridays.
Please call me if
you have any questions or suggestions!
