If your child is registered for Lunch Supervision and will be away during the lunch hour, please advise us by leaving a voicemail.

Lunch Supervision

The Calgary Board of Education provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. Please visit our Lunch Supervision page for more information.

Lunch Schedule

For the 2022-2023 year lunch will be divided into two groups.

  • 11:30- 11:52 – Group 1 eating (Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2); Group 2 outside (Grade 3, Grade 4 and Grade 5)
  • 11:52 – 12:15 – Group 1 outside (Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2); Group 2 eating (Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5)

Leaving School Grounds During the Lunch Hour

For students registered in the lunch program, leaving the school or the playground at noon is not permissible. We are responsible for providing a safe, supervised environment for all our lunch-room students over the entire lunch period. Daily attendance and adult supervision are critical components of this commitment. Hence, our policy is that students registered in our lunch program will not be allowed to leave the school grounds without the supervision of an adult.

If you are taking your child off school premises during the lunch hour, the parent/guardian is responsible for physically signing out their student in the school office. Phone-in authorizations are not acceptable. Students cannot be signed out by anyone who is not on the student’s Emergency Contact List and even then we must have a parent/guardian’s consent.  Our most important responsibility is the safety and security of your children.

In Our Lunchroom

Please remember to include cutlery with your child’s lunch as this is not provided at school. There is no access to microwaves for students. Due to safety concerns, hot water is not available for student lunches.

Fun Lunches

We are excited to announce that Fun Lunches have once again been set up using healthyhunger.ca.

Healthy Hunger is a website where families can first register and then order healthy lunches for their children. On the backside of this letter, you will see the simple steps to get started. As in previous years, if you require assistance, then please do not hesitate to contact School Council at midnapore.parentcouncil@gmail.com. We will be more than happy to assist you.
