If Your Child Will Be Absent

If your child is not at school, please call the office at 403-777-7233.

For safety, please ensure you call the school to report a student's absence or indicate that the student will be late.  We become concerned if your child is not at school and we have not received a message about this.  If a child is absent and we have not been notified in advance, parents will be contacted through School Messenger requesting parents/guardians to connect with the school to confirm the absence.

Arriving Late

All students arriving late should enter through the front doors of the school and report to the office to receive a late slip.

Frequent Lates/Absences

If a student is frequently late or absent families will be contacted by an administrator in order to develop strategies together to support consistent attendance.

Extended Absences

Extended absences may affect a student's academic progress and are recorded as unexcused in a student's attendance record. Families considering an extended absence are asked to call the school to schedule an appointment with Administration to understand and acknowledge the implications the absence may have on student learning.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.
