Back to School 2023 - 2024

Homeroom teachers will be in contact via email by the end of the day on August 30th, 2023.

First Day of School        

Thursday, Aug. 31st, 2023: All grade 6 and grades 7- 9 students who are NEW to MPS: This full day of school is called 'Head Start' and is designed to give all of our new grade 6 students a chance to come into the school and get accustomed to their new environment and meet their new teachers.  Transportation for grade 6 students will be provided.   

If you are a new student in grades 7- 9 you may come between 9:10am – 10:30am on August 31st, 2023 for a short orientation.  Families will be responsible for their own transportation.   

Friday, Sept. 1st, 2023: We welcome back ALL MPS students!


It is important that you inform the school if your child is going to be absent or arrive late.  Please report all absences to our Attendance email or the attendance line at 403-777-6442 ext. 1.  See more on our Attendance page.


Back to School 2023-2024 Hours

Our main office will be open August 28th – 30th, 2023 from 9:00am – 3:30pm.  Starting on August 31st, 2023, regular office hours will commence.

We know that the success of your student is dependent on a strong partnership between families and the CBE. If you have a concern, it can usually be addressed at the classroom level. Your first step is to arrange to speak privately with your child’s teacher.
