| Happy New Year! We hope that you enjoyed a restful break filled with friends, family and connection. We are excited to be back working with students in 2020. We continue to focus on “Lion Pride” as we work each day to help students to be and do their very best.
At Mount Royal School, we know that junior high school is a time for exploring new areas of learning in order to help determine passion, interests and aptitudes. To that end, we offer a variety of complementary programs to support student exploration. Our second semester begins January 27. We will pass out new student schedules on January 20. There will be some opportunity to request course changes though it is limited based on class size and availability. We make every effort to ensure that students are in courses of interest.
We also want to remind parents and students that there are variety of extracurricular opportunities including sports teams and clubs. Currently basketball tryouts are underway. We also have just launched our Karaoke Club, GSA and Archery Clubs. We encourage all students to listen to announcements and check the calendars to keep track of upcoming opportunities.
As we anticipate very cold weather in the coming weeks, we want to remind students and parents to be sure that students are dressed prepared for the weather. This includes winter jackets, gloves, hats and footwear. If you require support in accessing winter clothing please reach out to Ms. Teasdale so that we may provide assistance.
Finally, a reminder that we will be issuing digital report cards this year. This is an effort to work more efficiently, reduce paper costs and is of benefit to the environment. Report cards will be visible in your MyCBE / PowerSchool account. Once you log in, there will be a new tab visible on the main screen that says “Report Card”. You will see this tab once the report card is available, but not until then. Report cards will be available on January 24 at 12:30 PM.
