One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

Our Parent Society is Known as the Mount View School Home & School Association

**CALL-OUT FOR CASINO VOLUNTEERS**

The primary purpose of Mount View Home & School Association (MVHSA) is to coordinate fundraising activities that raise money for new computers, gym equipment, swimming lessons and art residencies, etc.  A MASSIVE fundraiser for our school is the casino event—a two-day casino can fund our school for two years (our last casino held in 2018 raised over $65,000). So, why not come out for a five or eight-hour shift which equates to two years of funding for your kiddo! We have 40 volunteer slots to fill over the two-day event on Wednesday, January 25th and Thursday, January 26th, 2023, at the ACE Casino Airport (opening in November 2022). All are welcome to volunteer – parents, guardians, grandparents, uncles, aunts, neighbours, etc.

We need your support for this event more than ever, as we have not received casino funds since 2018. There are a variety of positions available, all of which provide training—NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Here is everything you need to get signed up!
