We are asking for your help in making Mount View School a safe place for our students. We continue to experience some difficulty with the traffic around the school during drop off and pick up times. The signage is very clear where parking is permitted and is placed in a manner to allow all our children walking to school a safe environment.
Our Bus Zone is designed to allow the buses an easy/safe approach and departure from the front of the school. It is only with the support of the parent community that we can ensure safety for all.
Everyone must take an active role in ensuring that they are obeying the parking bylaws. Our staff parking lot is at maximum capacity and having parents drop off and pick up students in the parking lot is against school board regulations. This is due to the fact it creates a very unsafe situation for our children and we do not want them to be walking through the parking lot.
Walk a Block
Traffic, traffic, traffic! The congestion before and after school can be both dangerous and frustrating so we ask that everyone walk a block to school. The result is healthier kids and a safer environment for all. All drivers, except for buses, please park and let students out when it is safe to do so.
Parking Lot is a No-Go Zone
The safety of our children is of prime importance and we therefore ask all parents to observe the following rules. The parking lot is for staff cars and NOT for student drop offs. If you are going to drop off or pick up a student please do so from the west or north side of the school. It is unsafe and illegal to make a U-turn in front of the school or in a school zone.
Safety Patrols
There are patrols in our school at the north intersection of 20 Ave. NE and 4 St. NE to ensure students cross safely.
