School Patrollers

Due to Covid we have suspended our School Patrols until further notice.

Kiss & Drop

Due to Covid and safety concerns, our Kiss and Drop program is currently under review.  Parents are asked to drop students off at school in a safe manner and avoid using the parking lot at drop off and pick up times.

Dropping Off & Picking Up

Please drop your children off east of the City of Calgary bus stop in front of the school on Palliser Drive.  There will be no Kiss and Drop supervised by teachers this year.

To maintain student safety, please do not drop children off in the school parking lot, the City of Calgary bus zone, or school bus zone. 

Parking

Parking spots along the front of the school are reserved for staff parking.  Staff have paid for the use of the plug-ins during the winter.  PLEASE do not park in those spots.  Thanks for your consideration.

Parking Lot

Traffic, road safety, and ultimately, ensuring the well-being of our students is of the utmost importance. The school parking lot signs indicate that student drop off and pick up is prohibited. We would request that you adhere to this. Although, we encourage students and their families to use the sidewalks, at any given time there may be children walking through the parking lot and there have been some near misses. We realize, of course, there will be extenuating circumstances such as student injury, large project drop off, etc. As well, we have students with disabilities who require drop off at the door. Because of this, we try to be flexible.

Traffic Concerns

Please do not park in front of the neighbors living along the east alleyway of the school who have been unable to access their garages because cars have been parked in the alley. If you must use the alley as a drop off area, please understand this is a stop and drop area only.  In order to ensure the safety of your children and to avoid being ticketed, please do not leave your vehicles and use the appropriate drop off and pick-up areas.  Our school bus is struggling to park in their designated space which is just before the entrance of the parking lot and CTS is concerned with folks in the bus zone.  Please be courteous and not park in those two areas.

The City of Calgary By-Law states:

“The speed limit in all alleys is 15 km/h.  Speeding in an alley carries the same fine as speeding on a roadway.  For example, if you are traveling at 50 km/h in an alley, this is 35 km/h over the limit and your fine would be $219.00 and 4 demerit points.”

“You may not park within 1.5 metres of or directly across from a driveway or garage entrance in an alley.  Parking is also not allowed in front of or within 1.0 metres of the side of a garbage container or in alleys that are less than 6.1 metres wide.”

“You may not block an alley or impede other vehicles from using the alley.  You must also leave a minimum of 3.0 metres unobstructed width for the passage of other vehicles.  The penalty for violating these parking restrictions is $40.00 - $50.00 and your vehicle may be towed.”
