Drop off/Pick Up First Day of School
Parents can take their child(ren) to their teacher, located outside of our school, in the designated spots shared by their teacher. Teachers will contact families the last week of August, to clarify the meeting location.
What to Bring the First Day
Until winter weather arrives, students will wear one pair of shoes at school. These shoes must be appropriate for gym class and outdoor activities (i.e. – running shoes vs. flip-flops).
- A backpack that is large enough to hold a large picture book
- A water bottle that will go home to be cleaned and refilled each day.
- A healthy snack. Students who will be staying for lunch will need a lunch kit for their lunch.
- Please remember to label all personal belongings.
School Calendar
We are a school that follows the traditional calendar. View our school's Calendar for upcoming events and dates.
Noon Supervision
Lunch Registration
In order to eat lunch at school in our lunchroom program, all students must be registered. For more specific information as to cost and registration procedures, please see our Noon Supervision page.
Registration and payment can be done through MyCBE/PowerSchool account.
Nellie McClung operates a four-day lunchroom program for all students from Grades 1 - 6.
Please remember to call our lunchroom line to report a child’s absence/drop-in at
403-777-8630 extension 2.
Nellie McClung operates a “Peanut-Aware” lunchroom. We discourage peanut products in the lunchroom but cannot guarantee a “peanut free” environment. Please let us know if your child has food allergies and requires support. For more information on how to deal with allergies, please see our Illness and Medical page.
Snacks and lunches should be easy for children to manage. Hot water and microwaves are not accessible for students.
During lunch recess, supervision is provided for students attending the lunch program. Students who go home for lunch should return no more than 5 minutes prior to the 12:45 pm entry bell and line up with their class to re-enter school.
