  • To ease the transition of students into our school,
  • To spend time with smaller groups familiarizing them with our health and safety measures,
  • To facilitate physical distancing while teaching the protocols of our health and safety measures.

Drop off/Pick Up

Parents can take their child(ren) to their teacher, located outside of our school, in the designated spots highlighted on the map below. Teachers will contact families individually by phone this week to clarify the meeting location. Please note that there will not be Kiss and Drop service this year.

Parents, students and staff are expected to physically distance when outside.

We want to ensure that we provide a safe and caring environment for all students, staff and our exceptional learning community.  By being proactive and staggering our entry we will have the time we need to ensure that everyone is able to follow appropriate safety protocols.

What to Bring the First Day

Until winter weather arrives, students will wear one pair of shoes at school.  These shoes must be appropriate for gym class and outdoor activities (i.e. – running shoes vs. flip-flops).

  • A backpack that is large enough to hold a large picture book
  • A water bottle that will go home to be cleaned and refilled each day.
  • A healthy snack.  Students who will be staying for lunch will need a lunch kit for their lunch.
  • Students will be provided two reusable masks on the first day. They may also bring their own masks if they prefer.
  • Please send a small lunch size paper bag, labeled with your child’s name, where they can store their mask during mask breaks.
  • The school has many hand sanitizing stations for students to use.  If you wish to bring small personal bottles of hand sanitizer they can keep at their own spot, they are welcome to do so.
  • Please remember to label all personal belongings.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2021-22 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2021-22 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE / PowerSchool account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
