Students should exercise modesty, good taste and judgement in dressing and grooming. What you wear becomes unacceptable when it goes to extremes or becomes a distraction. At NMHS students should avoid:

• Revealing clothes such as short shorts, halter tops, tank tops, tube tops, muscle shirts, exposed undergarments;
• Masks and clothing, including hats, with offensive words, slogans or pictures;
• Jewelry that poses safety concerns (wallet chains, spiked jewelry);
• Bandanas or anything else that can be connected to gang association/affiliation.

Students may be asked to cover inappropriate clothing or they may be sent home to change if they arrive at school with inappropriate attire.
