Graduation Requirements

The pathway to graduation will require students to be actively involved in the planning process for course selections and credits earned. Your Connect Teacher and staff in the Success Centre are helpful resources as you consider choices in your journey to complete high school and as you prepare for apprenticeships, the world of work and post-secondary education.

In order for students to graduate they must meet the minimum Alberta Education Graduation Requirements for a High School Diploma or the Certificate of Completion for students in the Knowledge and Employability Program.  This will also apply for students to be eligible to participate in Mandela’s Graduation Exercises.  If you do not qualify at the end for 3 years to earn a high school diploma or certificate of completion, you will also not qualify to participate in graduation exercises.

myPass

We encourage all students to register with Alberta Education for their myPass access. myPass is a secure self-service website for students to access their education information. myPass allows you to check your educational information.

With myPass you can:

  • Order transcripts
  • Register for diploma exams
  • View diploma exam results
  • View progress towards a credential (diploma or certificate)
  • View student personal information
  • View and print detailed academic reports (DAR)
  • Order additional copies of a credential

​​​​Note | Alberta Education directs the Grade 12 Diploma Examinations Program. The Alberta Education Diploma exams webpage states:

The weighting of diploma exams will return to 30% effective September 1, 2023. Students who wrote a diploma exam or completed a diploma exam course in 2022-23 may still be eligible for the 20% weighting that applied last year.
