Welcome to New Brighton School. It is with a great deal of pride we welcome you to New Brighton School and thank you for choosing the Calgary Board of Education. During your time here we hope we can work together to build a strong school community that meets the academic, social and emotional needs of your child. In the 21st century, the ability to adjust to meet the needs of individual students has never been more important. We hope that, together, we can embrace the diversity that makes up the New Brighton community to enrich the experience of each one of us over the coming school year.
Developing common language that represents expectations for adults and children in learning and social situations is an important part of building a school culture of learning. Behaviour programs often separate the learning from the behavior – while research and experience tells us they are inseparable. At New Brighton School, learning, social skills and connections to each other and the community will be guided by simple statements.
- Take care of yourself
- Take care of each other
- Take care of this place
