Parking & Drop-Off

  • Parents are advised to drop students off along New Brighton Drive.
  • Do NOT use the school parking lot for drop-off or pick-up. 
  • The parking lot is reserved for staff members ONLY.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Parents are encouraged to drop students off along New Brighton Drive.Only children who are late for school may use the front doors for entry. Each classroom or grade will have a preferred entrance door but are encouraged to use the entrance door that makes the most sense at entry time. At dismissal time students will have a preferred exit. For the first week of school all students will exit the school from designated exits. Kindergarten students will maintain that routine for the entire school year. Grades 1- 4 students will be able to choose their exit based on parent preference, siblings and other needs. It is important for siblings to agree upon a common meeting place outside where they can meet up before walking home together at lunch and/or after school.

The School parking lot is not to be used for drop-off or pick-up of students. The parking lot is reserved for New Brighton staff members only.

Entering and Exiting the School

Front door entry is currently reserved for kindergarten only. Otherwise, only children who arrive late for school may use the front doors for entry. Parking Around Schools: Photo Enforcement

Calgary Parking Authority is helping to make school areas safer for our students and school communities. Here’s what you should know.

  1. The Calgary Parking Authority is now using photo enforcement in addition to Enforcement Officers in school
  2. areas, so tickets may be received in the mail or placed on vehicles that are in violation of parking regulations.
  3. You must follow posted signage, even if you remain in your vehicle.

Parking responsibly around schools is very important for the safety of the students attending these schools and members of the community.

TIPS: Avoid Parking Fines

  • Stay back at least 1.5 metres from entrances to garages or driveways
  • Watch for “No stopping” and “No parking zones
  • Keep school bus zones clear
  • Leave five metres between your car and cross walks
  • Park at least five metres from stop signs, yield signs or intersections

Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.​ ​​​​
