Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

The Alberta Government announced on July 21 that schools will be in Scenario 1 as of Sept. 1, 2020.

The CBE's 2020-21 re-entry plan is subject to change as more information becomes available from the province. We will continue to update schools with more details during the next school year.

You can find the COVID Self-Assessment Tool (daily checklist) in the Government Resources section on the CBE website.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for all registration details and registration forms.

We are a capped school for the 2020-2021 school year.  We are no longer accepting registrations for the year as we are full and have students on a waitlist.  Our overflow school is McKenzie Lake School.  Please contact them to register your child for the school year.  Please let us know via email at newbrighton@cbe.ab.ca if you would like to be placed on our waitlist.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

New Brighton School will not have transportation as everyone lives within the walk limit.  However, New Brighton families attending McKenzie Lake School will need to register for transportation.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.
