The Niitsitapi Learning Centre is excited to showcase their beautiful new outdoor learning space, designed and installed in the spring of 2020. This unique area has an eagle design and the trees, shrubs and rocks have been selected to allow for traditional stories and teachings to be shared that are connected to this place. An interactive digital map has been created to supporting teaching and learning about Indigenous plant knowledge and Western plant knowledge.
The Eagle Garden was made possible by the Calgary Foundation Community Grant “Integrating Indigenous Knowledges into the Classroom”. The staff, student and community send their gratitude.
