There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Fundraisers & Donations

Mabel's Labels:

Our school is part of the Mabel's Labels Fundraising project.  This is an easy way to help raise funds for our school, while also ensuring that your child's personal belongings stay out of the lost and found. 

Just visit https://mabelslabels.ca/en_CA/fundraising/support/ and ensure that you enter Northern Lights School for who you would like to support.  Once you are in, it should say "You are now supporting Northern Lights School (Calgary)" in the green banner. The amounts raised throughout the year from this fundraiser will go towards the purchase of additional guided reading materials.

Tru Earth:

We have teamed up with TRU EARTH. They sell environmentally conscious laundry detergent, fabric softener, kitchen cleaners and more. Northern Lights School will get back 20% of all sales and orders will be shipped directly to your home. (Shipping is free for orders over $50). Cobs:

When you make a purchase at the Cobs Bread Country Hills location (in the Country Hills Town Centre in Coventry Hills), just mention that you'd like to support Northern Lights School and 5% of your purchase will go to supporting the school!  The amounts raised throughout the year will go towards the purchase of additional guided reading materials.

Skip the Depot Bottle Drive:

Our Northern Lights School Parent Fundraising Society has teamed up with ‘Skip the Depot’ for an ongoing fundraiser to help raise money for our upcoming playground installation. 

What is SkipTheDepot? It's a door-to-door bottle collection service that makes refundable recycling and fundraising easier than 1,2,3.

  1. Download the app and book a pick-up using https://app.skipthedepot.com/nlsfundraisingsociety
  2. Place your bags outside
  3. Donations come directly to our school - no fuss, no muss!

SkipTheDepot will allow everyone to donate directly to Northern Lights School Fundraising Society with ease. 

If you’d prefer to drop off your bottles, you can do so at Calgary Bottle Exchange, located at 9218 Horton Rd SW; but don’t forget to mention it’s for NLS Fundraising Society. Thanks for your support!

Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) donation

  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
