Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-7776220 ext. 1.

Regular attendance and punctuality is the responsibility of the student and the parent/guardian. Parents are asked to inform the school by phone or a note when a student will be absent or late. An explanation of the absence is required. If we do not hear from the parent/guardian, the office staff will phone you or your emergency contacts.

Chronic absenteeism or lates will be followed up by the principal so that an attendance plan can be created in order to avoid referrals made to the attendance officer.

Late Arrivals

Students who arrive late are asked to report to the office to receive a late slip before going to class, otherwise a phone call will be made to report the student absent. Students will give the late slip to the classroom teacher.

Appointments During the Day

Please notify the office when students are required to leave for medical, dental or other appointments. For safety and security, students will not leave the school during instructional time until parents have signed them out at the office.

Family Holidays and Extended Leaves

Children are required by law to attend school on all official school days. Therefore, if holidays or extended leaves are planned during school days teachers will not be responsible for providing homework or programming for the students.
