The CBE's Approach to Community Engagement

Dialogue is the Calgary Board of Education’s approach to community engagement. It is a mutually respectful exchange of ideas that acknowledges and celebrates the diversity within the CBE community. It represents our ongoing commitment to involve people in decisions that affect them.

We know we make better decisions when we listen and work together to solve problems and find solutions. When we do, our students are better equipped to become successful citizens who contribute their ideas, passion and energy to society.

There can be no dialogue without you. Find out more about Dialogue as well as current and past system engagement initiatives on the CBE’s website.

Bell Time Adjustment - Feedback Gathering & Decision Sharing

Clear communication and transparent decision-making processes are foundational to building a strong school-community relationship. With this understanding, we are sharing the outcome of a decision regarding adjusted school hours and bell times for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. After careful consideration and a review of submitted feedback, effective September 1, 2021, Olympic Heights School’s hours and bell times will shift to 8:40 AM – 3:20 PM Monday - Thursday, and 8:40 AM – 12:30 PM on Fridays.

We deeply appreciate the feedback gathered and viewpoints expressed. Under Resources (on the sidebar), further information can be found regarding this decision, including the comments gathered from the Microsoft Form.
