Students in the Calgary Board of Education travel to school in a variety of ways, including walking, taking yellow buses or Calgary Transit or being driven by parents/guardians. Their safety is important, no matter how they get to school and home again.

Getting to School

Limited Busing to Panorama Hills

Bussing to Panorama Hills School is in operation for our complex needs students only. All other students reside within our walk zone and do not have bussing provided.

The CBE contracts Southland Transportation to provide busing for eligible students. Please be sure to establish emergency procedures for students, so that they know what to do if:

  • The bus is late or does not arrive
  • No one is home, or at the bus stop
  • There is an emergency school closure

Waivers are available to assist with the cost of transportation if you are eligible. For assistance with a transportation waiver please contact the main office.

Student behavior on the bus is generally the bus driver’s responsibility. A set of guidelines is provided by First Rider Program and is distributed to student and parents. Chronic misbehavior problems or major infractions of the rules, will result in a Bus Misconduct Report by the bus driver. Administration will then contact parents.
