Learning Commons at the CBE

Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.

Learning Commons / Library

At Peter Lougheed, our Learning Commons is open to students before and after school.  We believe that students need to have access to rich resources and beautiful spaces whether they are working on their homework, following their curiosities and/or uncovering new ideas and thinking so they can better understand themselves and the world around them.   Students are welcome to use our Learning Commons before and after school each day, and as well, during our lunch hour.  Students are expected to use this space to work on their studies (homework) or quietly enjoy one of our many excellent books

Homework Hotel (Cancelled during COVID Pandemic)

Every Monday through Thursday, our Learning Commons is open until 4:15 PM for students to complete school work. Any student is welcome to use the Learning Commons at this time. Some students may receive a “special invitation” from teachers if they have not completed their assignments/school work in a timely manner and/or require extra support.
